  2. b. 1 Corinthians 14:24–25; 2 Chronicles 34:18–19, 26–28

    1 Corinthians 14:24–25

14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

14:24 But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all, 14:25 and the secrets of his heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming, "God is truly among you!"

    2 Chronicles 34:18–19; 2 Chronicles 34:26–28

34:18 Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 34:19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. 34:26 And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard; 34:27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord. 34:28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.

34:18 Moreover, Shaphan the scribe told the king, "Hilkiah the priest has given me a book." And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king. 34:19 When the king heard the words of the Law, he tore his clothes 34:26 But as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, tell him that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'As for the words that you heard, 34:27 because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its people, and because you have humbled yourself before Me and you have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you,' declares the LORD. 34:28 'Now I will indeed gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the calamity that I will bring on this place and on its inhabitants.'" So they brought her answer back to the king.

  3. c. Acts 2:37, 41; 8:27–30, 35–38

    Acts 2:37; Acts 2:41

2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

2:37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" 2:41 Those who embraced his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the believers that day.

    Acts 8:27–30; Acts 8:35–38

8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

8:27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official in charge of the entire treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 8:28 and on his return was sitting in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet. 8:29 The Spirit said to Philip, "Go over to that chariot and stay by it." 8:30 So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. 8:35 Then Philip began with this very Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. 8:36 As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, "Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?" 8:38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.

  4. d. 2 Corinthians 3:18

    2 Corinthians 3:18

3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

  5. e. 2 Corinthians 10:4–6; Romans 6:17

    2 Corinthians 10:4–6

10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

10:4 The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 10:5 We tear down arguments and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 10:6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, as soon as your obedience is complete.

    Romans 6:17

6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

6:17 But thanks be to God that, though you once were slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were committed.

4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

4:4 But Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" 4:7 Jesus replied, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" 4:10 "Away from Me, Satan!" Jesus declared. "For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'"

    Ephesians 6:16–17

6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

    Psalm 19:11

19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

    Acts 20:32

20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

20:32 And now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all who are sanctified.

    2 Timothy 3:15–17

3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

3:15 From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 3:17 so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.

  8. h. Romans 16:25; 1 Thessalonians 3:2, 10–11, 13; Romans 15:4; 10:13–17; 1:16

    Romans 16:25

16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

16:25 Now to Him who is able to strengthen you by my gospel and by the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery concealed for ages past

    1 Thessalonians 3:2; 1 Thessalonians 3:10–11; 1 Thessalonians 3:13

3:2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? 3:11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 3:13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

3:2 We sent Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, 3:10 Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking from your faith. 3:11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you. 3:13 so that He may establish your hearts in blamelessness and holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Amen.

    Romans 15:4

15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

    Romans 10:13–17

10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 10:14 How then can they call on the One in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? 10:15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" 10:16 But not all of them welcomed the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" 10:17 Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

    Romans 1:16

1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek.
