31:18 I have surely heard Ephraim's moaning: 'You disciplined me severely, like an untrained calf. In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

7:11 Consider what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In every way you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

1:16 Wash and cleanse yourselves. Remove your evil deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil! 1:17 Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow."

What is repentance unto life?

Repentance unto life is a saving grace, wrought in the heart of a sinner by the Spirit and word of God, whereby, out of the sight and sense, not only of the danger, but also of the filthiness and odiousness of his sins, and upon the apprehension of God’s mercy in Christ to such as are penitent, he so grieves for and hates his sins, as that he turns from them all to God, purposing and endeavoring constantly to walk with him in all the ways of new obedience.
